Toyota GPS Navigation- Indonesia

In July 2007, Motor Show in Jakarta. Toyota lunched GPS Navigation for Toyota LandRover and Inova.

Toyota’s GPS device has 200mm wide screen (it is wider than common AV car), sensitive touch screen, Bluetooth build in for phone connectivity, IR Remote control, TV Tuner, Radio FM/AM frequency, back camera function, CD/DVD Player, AV output SD card and USB storage compatible.

For Navigation features:
Java and Bali Maps, more than 14000 POIs covered all Toyota's service center , find nearby POI’s, find street name, night display and many more

What is Deferential GPS?

Deferential GPS is a method to enhance GPS accuracy. Usually DGPS can we found at harbor it function to help ship navigation to dock. DGPS is very useful to located reef or shipwrek

DGPS Correction is broadcast from GPS that have RTCM (Radio Technical Commission Maritime). RTCM is GPS standard format for all GPS to sent and receive data from one GPS to another. RTCM has many version from 1.2 until now 3.1. RTCM version 3.1 has ability to enhance accuracy with Glonass satellite.

Navigation GPS that has accuracy maximal 6 meters can be enhance to 1-2 meters if GPS get Correction signal from DGPS. And for mapping can obtain below one-meter accuracy.

Giove Europe’s first Galileo Satellite

Yes… in the future Global Positioning System will more accurate. Why, because europe has lunched europe’s positioning system that called by Galileo.
The fist satellite in this Galileo project named with Giove. It lunched in last 2005 and satellite successful transmitted its fist navigation signal at 17:25 GMT on 12 January 2006. It will be lunched more than 30 satellites to orbit in future.
With This Galileo system, europe can be more free to control and monitoring without GPS satellite.


The purpose of Galileo is monitoring, mapping, surveying, but the main is for security because europe cannot lay on US satellite.
So what the advantage for public, In future, positioning system in worldwide will be more accurate with cooperation GPS-US, GLONASS-Russia, and GALILEO-Europe.

Nokia Maps for N95

Nokia has cooperated with Tele Atlas to make digital map of Indonesia. It is one proof that Nokia commit with GPS technology in Indonesia

Now days, Maps just covered for Jakarta. But in futures will covered all java and Bali island

Nokia N95 was the fist series that using Tele Atlas’s map. Using Nokia Maps as its GPS application.

ith Nokia Maps, you can see the current location on the map, browse maps for different cities and country, search for address and different points of interest, plan route from one location to another and save a location as a landmarks and sent them to compatible devices

You can also purchase extra service, such as city guides and turn-by-turn navigation service with voice guidance.


System requirement to run this application:

- Mobile device with OS S60 3th edition
- Compatible memory card with at least 5 MB of free space
- EDG, UMTS, HSDPA or wireless LAN
- Internal or External GPS receiver.

Beside Nokia Maps, Tele Atlas has lunch Jakarta map for Garmin user, so if you are GPS user, be ready to have wonder digital maps of Indonesia.
